Jajpur jewellery shop owner robbed: 4 miscreants flee with 5 kg silver, 150g gold after firing

Four miscreants opened fire at a jewellery shop owner then robbed gold and silver ornaments along with Rs 50,000 in cash. The incident reportedly took place near the Indarai-Bankasahi road in Odisha 's Jajpur on Monday evening. The victims have been identified as Bijay Kumar Sahu and his wife. Sahu reportedly runs a jewellery shop at Shivachhak under Sadar police limits. after four men allegedly stopped him and his wife on the and fired in the air. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. As per reports, after closing shop yesterday evening, Sahu and his wife were returning home on a motorcycle with a bag containing around 5 kg of silver, 150 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 50,000 in cash. While they were passing through a deserted stretch of the Indarai-Bankasahi road, four miscreants travelling on two motorcycles stopped them. The men allegedly fired blanks in the air before snatching the bag containing the jewellery and cash from Sahu. Police Begin Investigation Police reportedly reached the spot soon after receiving information regarding the robbery and launched an investigation. One empty cartridge and one bullet were recovered from the spot. Officials were also examining CCTV footage from Sahu's jewellery shop and other nearby shops to identify those involved in the robbery, at the time of reporting. Further investigation was still underway to establish their identities and trace the other persons involved in the robbery.
