Man’s throat slit by youths after he refuses to give lift in Odisha's Ganjam
Hinjilicut: A man was seriously injured after a group of youths allegedly slit his throat with a knife at Khandara Chhak under Hinjilicut police limits in Odisha 's Ganjam district late Friday night. According to reports, some youths had asked for a lift from a motorcycle rider on the road. When the rider refused to give them a lift, the youths stopped him and attacked him with a knife. The injured man has been identified as Uddhab Padhi of Khandara village. The incident took place when Padhi was travelling from his village towards Hinjilicut. Padhi sustained serious injuries and was initially rushed to the Hinjilicut Sub-Divisional Hospital. He was later shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as his condition deteriorated. Following the incident, police reached the Hinjilicut Hospital and spoke to the injured man's family members to gather details about the attack. An investigation into the incident is underway.
